Kolabraut, Smurstöð & Hörpudiskur

KH catering is a company which runs the venues and restaurants Kolabrautin, Smurstöðin and Hörpudiskur in Harpa, Reykjavík’s concert hall and conference center. Smurstöðin is a restaurant on the first floor, Kolabrautin is a restaurant on the fourth floor and Hörpudiskur caters to other spaces in Harpa during conferences, meetings, concerts and various galas.

Kolabrautin is a modern restaurant where the exquisite selection of Icelandic ingredients blends beautifully with the best of Mediterranean cuisine. The heart of Kolabrautin is its kitchen and the fiery furnace of the coal oven at its center. The magnificent view will add a magical touch to your evening, while you enjoy the enticing à la carte menu and an ambitious wine list from the New World. Whether you want to enjoy an aperitif before your meal – or just have drinks and snacks before or after your Harpa event – it’s the perfect place to relax.

Smurstöðin is an exciting, newly opened restaurant at the ground floor of Harpa. Smurstöðin only uses Icelandic grown and harvested ingredients which are the cream of the crop at any given time. Open-faced sandwiches in the style of the New Nordic Cuisine Movement, are the main fare at Smurstöðin. The foundation of the menu was developed in close collaboration with Almanak restaurant in Copenhagen and the Danish chef, Claus Meyer, who co-founded the gourmet restaurant Noma, which holds two Michelin stars.

Hörpudiskur is Harpa’s catering service. It provides a comprehensive service for conferences, meetings, celebrations, and cocktails. Icelandic cuisine is very much in the foreground at Hörpudiskur so as to make your trip to Iceland all the more memorable. Our menus are seasonal with a strong emphasis on Icelandic ingredients.
