Viðeyjarstofa Café is open to all visitors, where you are able to buy refreshments in one of Iceland’s oldest houses and the first stone house built.

Meetings and conferences

Viðeyjarstofa, the first built stone house in Iceland, offers unique facilities for meetings and conferences which suit hard working groups. We offer first class catering and we provide all the main equipment for the event.

Chef, Friðgeir Ingi and his team from EIRIKSSON Brasserie (www.brasserie.is) has run the restaurant operation on Viðey island since april 2010. We assure you of quality, professionalism and great customer service.

The upper floor is a spacious hall, comfortable for up to 150 guests. The first floor is divided into several smaller rooms, suitable for 10 to 25 guests each.

Those groups that also want to enjoy nature in Viðey Island can book a guided tour of the island which is a good start on a good day or evening.

WEDDINGS

Viðey Island is an ideal venue for small and intimate wedd­ings. You can be assured of a unique experience and if desired you could even have the whole island to yourselves.

Viðeyjarstofa is an ideal venue for the wedd­ing party, right next-door to the church and its beautiful view over­look­ing Reykjavík city.

In sum­mer time Viðeyjarstofa is open from 11:30 to 18:00 every day. Additionally the open­ing hours are ext­ended in conn­ection to events. The menu inclu­des fresh Icelandic ingredients, such as mus­sels, cured salmon, waff­les and more.

In win­ter time Viðeyjarstofa is open from 13:30 to 16:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. Additionally the open­ing hours are ext­ended in conn­ection to concerts and other events. The menu inclu­des cof­fee, hot chocolate and delicious pastries.

 

EIRIKSSON BRASSERIE

EIRIKSSON BRASSERIE is a brand new restaurant in downtown Reykjavík, located at Laugavegur 77, a famous redesigned building formerly owned by Landsbanki Íslands.
Opened 28th of March 2019.

Substantial changes were made to the building at the end of 2018 under the supervision of Italian design company Design Group Italia who transformed a former bank branch into a classy and cozy Brasserie!

At the frontline of this newest addition to the sprawling Reykjavík restaurant scene are husband and wife Friðgeir Ingi Eiríksson and Sara Dögg Ólafsdóttir, Friðgeir´s father, Eiríkur Ingi Friðgeirsson

Friðgeir Ingi, Sara and Friðgeir sr. are well known in the Icelandic restaurant business as they used to manage Hótel Holt and Gallery Restaurant for many years in addition to running Viðeyjarstofa from 2010.

Friðgeir used to be head chef at Domaine de Clairefontaine, a Michelin star restaurant in Lyon, France. When it comes to food and service, Friðgeir and his father have made a name for themselves in Iceland and abroad as the Icelandic representatives in Bocuse D´or, the World Cup of chefs, along with TV consultation.

The menu at EIRIKSSON BRASSERIE has a European style with a special emphasis on Italian cooking. The wine cellar, located in an old money vault, creates an atmosphere like no other. There you can find a collection of about 4.000 bottles, many of whom you cannot find on the common market. The money vault also contains a private dining room which can be reserved for special occasions.
