Run the world, girls!

At IMEX Frankfurt this year, the Icelandic stand was, for the very first time, entirely “manned” by women. This was not something we planned but rather a happy coincidence. But it is fitting since Iceland has been making statements about gender equality lately. We are the first country in the world to make it illegal to pay women less than men, and we have been at the top of the Global Gender Gap Index for the past 9 years.

However, our focus at IMEX this year wasn’t about gender equality. We were all about sustainability. We eliminated all plastic from the stand and did our very best to reuse and recycle everything we brought with us to Frankfurt. We wanted to show in action that we fully intend to be part of the solution when it comes to climate change.
